Mary Wood

Mary Wood was born in Maidstone, Kent, the thirteenth child of fifteen children. Repatriation after the war saw her family re-settled in Leicestershire where her family lived in an ex-Army hut, specially addapted to house displaced families. I slept in a double bed with three of her sisters, but gradually made it to a bed of her own as each sister left to get married.
